AI Dreams of a Techno Quilt investigates what happens when AI-generated content becomes the primary design source for a physical quilt.
The quilt required extensive translation through EQ8, vector drawing, color organization, Foundation Paper Piecing, and appliqué. Its aesthetic vibrancy contrasts with the maker’s reported sense of creative detachment.
As a dissertation artifact, the quilt demonstrates the difference between visual appeal and felt agency. It cautions against assuming that speed, scale, or synthetic cohesion automatically produces meaningful creative engagement.
